Oh hey! Welcome to my first blog post as I embark on my Remote Year journey of travel and work for the next 12 months. This will be my digital diary for the year where i'll post, well, whateva I want!

So I should probably start with answering the question you may have. What is Remote Year? Basically its a program that organises a year of travel and accomodation with which i'm travelling with 39 other people doing the exact same thing. There is more to it, which i'll elaborate on.

My Remote Year itinerary consists of 12 cities in 11 countries over 12 months.

After finishing up work at the end of April to get my life in order for a May 26 flight to my first stop in Lisbon, Portugal. The month was for packing things up and finding new work butI definitely stretched out the farewell festivities as after all this was going to be a year away from friends and family.

The admin and prep for this thing was VERY underestimated on my part. Its all the little things to remember like, oh yeh I should cancel my internet and redirect my mail. Mushing in a last minute bathroom renovation to ensure my new tenants don't fall through the floor when innocently showering, there was not much time to think about what was ahead. But got there in the end.
